Echo Park offers little in the quick eats department. The old standard has been Delilah Bakery, just down the road. The lunch menu at the bakery was sparse–consisting of 5 overpriced items; however, Delilah has added a full menu with salads and fruit and muffins. Each plate comes with a baby cupcake that appears to be getting the birds pregnant. These sandwiches are like picture books to post-war Germany. Thank you Delilah.

I watched the BET awards last night–in its entirety. Despite an over-indulgent performance from Beyonce and a 45 minute O’Jays homage, the award show achieved its modest, but necessary goal of honoring the late, great superfreak, Michael Jackson. Check out the first performance of the Moonwalk on Motown 25 (3:40) and listen for the crowd’s eruption.
