The Slow Death showcase (word of mouth only) at South by South West, meant to hold 200 people max, was packed out this past Saturday with 800 cool-guys strong. The Southern Mansion just off Sixth street saw stellar performances by Blank Dogs, Wavves, Theophilus London, POPO, Major Lazer, Rick Ross, Jadakiss, and a special face-fucking shoutout by 95′ allstars Bone Thugs ‘n Harmony…Bum Bum Bum Bum, Bum, Bum, Bum. Needless to say, we killed it.

It’s getting cold-hot again–a seasonal anomaly specific to Southern California. These fleeting hints of breeze remind me of my youth and how freezing and damp it could be. Until yesterday I never yearned for home in the Big Apple, but after catching a beautifully slung Anna Wintour rhyme on the radio, my thoughts have changed. So in honor of Josh, Kitto, Asher and all the NY/SD peoples, here are two songs that will hopefully cancel eachother out and make you feel just aight about NYC.
